Even after bravely serving our country, our service members face another challenge back at home. The transition back to civilian life can be difficult, but the United Service Organizations (USO) Pathfinder program helps returning service members be successful.
To support the good work USO is doing, Boeing is donating $5 million to help fund eight brand new support centers across the country. These new centers will help more than 210,000 returning service members.
With an expansion to 25 support centers by 2020 planned, USO will soon have a part in 80 percent of all active-duty transitions each year.
“We are proud to support our nation’s military beyond the battlefield,” said Boeing Chairman, President and CEO Dennis Muilenburg. “This includes a commitment to hiring veterans and investing in their families and communities.”
Boeing is a leader in employing our returning service members. Veterans represent 15 percent of the Boeing workforce — more than 20,000 people.
