The newest U.S. fighting force is celebrating its 6th birthday on December 20.

Founded in 2019 as an independent branch of the military, the Space Force was born out of the Air Force Space Command.

Known today as “Guardians,” the active military members and civilians in the Space Force are specially trained to protect our nation in, from, and to space.
